ഒരു അപൂരിത കാർബണിക അമ്ലമാണ് അക്രിലിക് ആസിഡ് ( Acrylic acid ) (IUPAC: prop-2-enoic acid) (ഫോർമുല: CH₂=CH-COOH). നിറമില്ലാത്ത ദ്രവവസ്തു. തിളനില 141°C ജലത്തിൽ ഏതനുപാതത്തിലും കലരും. വച്ചിരിക്കുന്തോറും പോളിമറീകരിച്ചു ഖരവസ്തുവായിത്തീരുന്നു. അക്രോലീൻ, അല്ലൈൽ ആൽക്കഹോൾ എന്നിവ ഓക്സീകരിച്ചും അക്രിലൊ നൈട്രൈൽ അഥവാ വിനൈൽ സയനൈഡിനെ ജലീയവിശ്ലേഷണത്തിനു (hydrolysis) വിധേയമാക്കിയും ബീറ്റാ ഹൈഡ്രോക്സി പ്രൊപിയോണിക് അമ്ലം നേർത്ത സോഡിയം ഹൈഡ്രോക്സൈഡ് ലായനി ചേർത്ത് ചൂടാക്കിയും അക്രിലിക് അമ്ലം ഉണ്ടാക്കാം.
