ഐക്യ അറബ് എമിറേറ്റിലെ ഒരു പ്രമുഖ ബിസിനസുകാരനും രാഷ്ട്രീയ ഉപദേഷ്ടാവും ജീവകാരുണ്യപ്രവർത്തകനുമാണ് ജുമാ അൽ മാജിദ് (ജനനം:1930, ദുബായ്, യുണൈറ്റഡ് അറബ് എമിറേറ്റ്സ്). [5] ജുമാ അൽ മാജിദ് ഹോൾഡിംഗ് ഗ്രൂപ്പിന്റെ സ്ഥാപകനും ചെയർമാനുമാണ്. 2016 ൽ ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും ധനികരായ അറബികളിൽ ഒരാളായി അൽ മാജിദ് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു.[6][7][8]
യുഎഇ സമ്പദ് വ്യവസ്ഥയുടെയും സമൂഹത്തിന്റെയും പുരോഗതിക്ക് അദ്ദേഹം നൽകിയ സംഭാവനകൾ ശ്രദ്ധേയമാണ്. വ്യാപാരം, ഉൽപ്പാദനം, റിയൽ എസ്റ്റേറ്റ് എന്നിവയിൽ താൽപ്പര്യമുള്ള വൈവിധ്യമാർന്ന കൂട്ടായ്മയായ ജുമാ അൽ മാജിദ് ഗ്രൂപ്പ് അദ്ദേഹം സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം, ആരോഗ്യപരിപാലനം, മേഖലയിലെ സാംസ് കാരികവും സാമൂഹികവുമായ സംരംഭങ്ങളെ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കൽ തുടങ്ങിയ ജീവകാരുണ്യ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്കും ജുമ അൽ മാജിദിന് അംഗീകാരം ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.[9]
ദുബായ് ഇക്കണോമിക് കൗൺസിൽ ചെയർമാൻ, യുഎഇ സെൻട്രൽ ബാങ്ക് വൈസ് ചെയർമാൻ, എമിറേറ്റ്സ് ബാങ്ക് ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ ലിമിറ്റഡ് വൈസ് ചെയർമാൻ, ദുബായ് ചേംബർ ഓഫ് കൊമേഴ്സ് ആൻഡ് ഇൻഡസ്ട്രി ഡയറക്ടർ, അൽ-നിസ്ർ പബ്ലിഷിംഗ് (ഗൾഫ് ന്യൂസ്) ബോർഡ് അംഗം തുടങ്ങിയ പദവികൾ വഹിച്ചു. [10][11]
1950 ൽ അദ്ദേഹം ജുമാ അൽ മാജിദ് ഹോൾഡിംഗ് ഗ്രൂപ്പ് സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. ഇത് പിന്നീട് മിഡിൽ ഈസ്റ്റിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തമായ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിലൊന്നായി മാറി. റിയൽ എസ്റ്റേറ്റ്, ട്രാവൽ ആൻഡ് ടൂറിസം, ഹോസ്പിറ്റാലിറ്റി, നിക്ഷേപങ്ങൾ, ഓട്ടോമൊബൈൽസ്, കരാർ, വാണിജ്യം എന്നിവയാണ് ഗ്രൂപ്പിന്റെ പ്രമുഖ വ്യാപാര മേഖലകൾ .[12]
