പരിസ്ഥിതി ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനും 2011ൽ ന്യൂമെക്സിക്കോ സർവ്വകലാശാലയിലെ ജീവശാസ്ത്ര പ്രൊഫസ്സറുമായിരുന്നു.[1] ഇക്കോളജിയുടെ 3 കാര്യങ്ങളെ ആധാരമാകിയാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നടന്നിരുന്നത്. 1. ചിഹുവഹുവാൻ മരുഭൂമിയിലെ ഹാർവസ്റ്റർ ഉറുമ്പുകളുടെയും കരളുന്ന ജന്തുക്കളുടെയും അംഗസംഖ്യയും സമൂഹപരിസ്ഥിതിശാസ്ത്രവും അടിസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തിയത്, 2. ജന്തുക്കളുടെ ശാരീരിക വലിപ്പവും അവയുടെ എണ്ണവും ഭൂമിശാസ്ത്രവ്യാപ്തിയും[2], 3. ഇക്കോളജിയുടെ ഉപാപജയ തത്ത്വം.[3]
