പോളണ്ട് (ഔദ്യോഗിക നാമം: റിപബ്ലിക് ഓഫ് പോളണ്ട്) മധ്യയൂറോപ്പിലെ ഒരു രാജ്യമാണ്. പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ജർമ്മനി, കിഴക്ക് യുക്രെയിൻ, ബലാറസ്, തെക്ക് ചെക്ക് റിപബ്ലിക്, സ്ലൊവാക്യ, വടക്ക് ലിത്വാനിയ, റഷ്യ, ബാൾട്ടിക് കടൽ എന്നിവയാണ് അതിർത്തികൾ. ഡെന്മാർക്കുമായി സമുദ്രാതിർത്തിയുമുണ്ട്. 2004 മേയ് ഒന്നുമുതൽ യൂറോപ്യൻ യൂണിയനിലും അംഗമാ‍ണ്.മേരീക്യൂറിയുടെ ജന്മദേശമാണ് 3.85 കോടി ജനസംഖ്യയുമായി ഇത് യൂറോപ്യൻ യൂണിയൻ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ അഞ്ചാം സ്ഥാനത്താണ്. പോളണ്ടിന്റെ തലസ്ഥാനവും ഏറ്റവും വലിയ നഗരവും വാർസോ ആണ്..^[7] മറ്റു പ്രധാന നഗരങ്ങൾ ക്രാകോവ്, ലോഡ്സ്, വ്രോക്ലാവ്, പൊസ്നാൻ ഗെഡാൻഷ്ക്, സ്കെഷെചിൻ എന്നിവയാണ്.

പോളണ്ടിന്റെ ഭൂപ്രകൃതി ബാൾട്ടിക് സമുദ്രങ്ങളുടെ തീരങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് വടക്ക് സുഡറ്റിസും തെക്ക് കാർപാത്യൻ മലനിരകൾവരെയും വ്യാപിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്നു. വടക്ക് കിഴക്ക് ഭാഗത്ത് ലിത്വേനിയയും റഷ്യയുടേ കലിനിൻ ഗ്രാഡ് ഒബ്ലാസുമായും കിഴക്ക് ഭാഗത്ത് ബെലറൂസും ഉക്രയിനുമായും തെക്ക് സ്ലോവാക്കിയയും ചെക്ക് റിപ്പബ്ലിക്കുമായും പടീഞ്ഞാറ് ജർമനിയുമായും അതിർത്തി പങ്കിടുന്നു. ^[8]
