മുകയർ

മുകയർ

മുകയർ എന്നത് ഹിന്ദുമതത്തിലെ ഒരു സമുദായത്തിൻ്റെ പേരാണ്. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ കേരള സംസ്ഥാനത്തിൻ്റെ വടക്കൻ ജില്ലകളിൽ മുകയർ അധിവസിച്ചു വരുന്നു.

കാസർഗോഡ്, കണ്ണൂർ, കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലകളിൽ പുഴയോരങ്ങളിലും കടൽ തീരങ്ങളിലുമായി ഇവർ പല ജോലികൾ ചെയ്തു ജീവിച്ചു പോരുന്നു. പ്രധാനമായും കടത്തു തുഴയൽ, മത്സ്യബന്ധനം, പുഴയിൽ നിന്ന് മണൽ വാരൽ അതുപോലെ പുഴയോരവും കാലോരവുമായ അനുബന്ധ ജോലികളും ഇവർ ചെയ്തുപോന്നു.

കേരള സർക്കാറിൻ്റെ ഗസറ്റ് ഉത്തരവു പ്രകാരം (( As amended by the Scheduled Castes and Sceduled Tribes Order (Amendment Act) 1976 and as amended by the Constitution (Sceduled castes) Orders (Second Amendment) Act, 2002 (Act 61 of 2002) vide Part VIII- Kerala- Schedule I notified in the Gazette of India, dated 18 December, 2002) and (As amended by the Scheduled Castes and Sceduled Tribes Orders (Amendment) Act 2002 (Act 10 of 2003) vide Part VII- Kerala- Second Schedule notified in the Gazette of India dated 8 January, 2003) മുകയസമുദായക്കാർ സാമുഹ്യമായി പിന്നാക്കം നിൽക്കുന്നവരാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് അവർ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ ആനുുകൂല്യങ്ങൾക്ക് അർഹരാണ്.
