അമേരിക്കയിലെ ഇല്ലിനോയി, കുക്ക് കൗണ്ടിയിലെ ചിക്കാഗോയിൽ ലൂപ് ഏരിയയിലെ മില്ലെനിയം പാർക്കിന്റെ തെക്ക് അറ്റത്തുള്ള 2.5 ഏക്കർ (10,000 ചതുരശ്ര അടി) ഉദ്യാനമാണ് ലൂറി ഗാർഡൻ. ജിജിഎൻ (ഗസ്റ്റാസൺ ഗുഥറി നികോൾ), പിയറ്റ് ഒഡോൾഫ്, റോബർട്ട് ഇസ്രയേൽ[3]എന്നിവർ ഈ ഉദ്യാനം രൂപകൽപ്പന ചെയ്തു. 2004 ജൂലായ് 16 ന് ആരംഭിച്ച ഈ ഉദ്യാനത്തിൽ ബഹുവർഷ സസ്യങ്ങൾ, കുറ്റിച്ചെടികൾ, പുല്ലുവർഗ്ഗത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ചെടികൾ, ബൾബുവർഗ്ഗത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ചെടികൾ, മരങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ഇവിടെ സംയോജിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.[4] ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പച്ച മേൽക്കൂരയുടെ പ്രകൃതിദത്ത ഭാഗമായ ഈ തോട്ടനിർമ്മാണത്തിന് ചെലവ് 13.2 മില്ല്യൺ ഡോളർ ആയിരുന്നു. ഉദ്യാനത്തിൻറെ അറ്റകുറ്റപ്പണിയും പരിപാലനവും ആയി 10 ദശലക്ഷം ഡോളർ ചെലവ് ചെയ്യുന്നു.[5][6]
