മാർട്ടിൻ സ്കോർസസെയുടെ സംവിധാനത്തിൽ 2011-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് 3ഡി ചലച്ചിത്രമാണ് ഹ്യൂഗോ. ബ്രയാൻ സെല്സ്നിക്കിന്റെ ദ ഇൻവെൻഷൻ ഓഫ് ഹ്യൂഗോ കാബ്രെറ്റ് എന്ന നോവലിനെ ആസ്പദമാക്കിയാണ് ഈ സിനിമ നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. പാരീസ് റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കുട്ടിയുടെയും, അവിടെ കളിപ്പാട്ടക്കട നടത്തുന്ന ഒരു വൃദ്ധന്റെയും കഥയാണ് ഈ ചിത്രം പറയുന്നത്. മാർട്ടിൻ സ്കോർസസെ സംവിധാനവും ജോൺ ലോഗൻ നിർമ്മാണവും നിർവ്വഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഗ്രഹാം കിങിന്റെ ജി.കെ. ഫിലിംസും, ജോണി ഡെപ്പിന്റെ ഇൻഫെന്റിയും നിഹിലുമാണ് ഈ ചിത്രം നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. അസ ബട്ടർഫീൽഡ്, ക്ലോ ഗ്രേസ് മാർട്ടസ്, ബെൻ കിങ്സ്ലി, സച്ചാ ബറോൺ കൊഹേൻ, റേ വിൻസ്റ്റോൺ, ക്രിസ്റ്റഫർ ലീ എന്നിവർ പ്രധാന കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ അഭിനയിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

മികച്ച ചലച്ചിത്രം, മികച്ച സംവിധായകൻ എനിവയടക്കം 11 അക്കാദമി പുരസ്കാര നാമനിർദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ ഈ ചിത്രത്തിനു ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു. 84-ആം അക്കാദമി പുരസ്കാരങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റവുമധികം നാമനിർദ്ദേശം ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നത് ഈ ചിത്രത്തിനായിരുന്നു. മികച്ച ശബ്ദ മിശ്രണം(Sound mixing), മികച്ച സൗണ്ട് എഡിറ്റിംഗ്, മികച്ച കലാസംവിധാനം, മികച്ച വിഷ്വൽ എഫക്റ്റ്സ്, മികച്ച ഛായാഗ്രഹണം എന്നീ 5 അക്കാദമി പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ ഈ ചിത്രം നേടി[5]. ഇതു കൂടാതെ 2 ബാഫ്റ്റ അവാർഡുകളും നേടി. 3 ഗോൾഡൻ ഗ്ലോബ് പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾക്ക് ഈ ചിത്രം നാമനിർദ്ദേആവും നേടിയിരുന്നു.
