സഹാറാ മരുഭൂമിക്കു താഴെ (തെക്ക്) ആണ് ടോഗോയുടെ സ്ഥാനം. ടോഗോയുടെ വടക്ക് ഭാഗത്ത് സാവന്നാ പുൽമേടുകൾ ആണ്. തെക്കൻ പീഠഭൂമി തീരദേശത്തോട് ചേരുന്ന ഇടങ്ങളിൽ അനവധി കായലുകളും ചതുപ്പുനിലങ്ങളും ഉണ്ട്. കര പ്രദേശത്തിന്റെ വിസ്തീർണ്ണം 56,785 ച.കി.മീ (21,925 ച.മൈൽ) ആണ്.
